Mathew (Matt) Enzler is in his second (2nd) year as Co-Pastor of TUMC, having co-pastored with Stephanie Dion last year.  Matt has lived in many areas of the country, including Washington, DC, and Washington State.  While continuously involved in some form of ministry, he earlier served as an attorney, speaking openly about the victims with whom he has worked and the impact they have had upon his life.  He left his law career and started volunteering at a local soup kitchen through Audubon Park United Methodist Church in Spokane, WA, before entering seminary.  He is currently in his third of an anticipated three years total at PTS, working toward a Master of Divinity degree.  He has led home-group Bible studies and service projects and coached softball teams in a church league.

Effective July 1, TUMC will welcome Pastor Kelly Spencer to join current Co-Pastor Mathew Enzler to begin her appointment as part of the GNJUMC’s “Mosaic Ministries” program.  This program was introduced several years ago to provide pairings of competitively selected students at area seminaries with the opportunity to gain immersive experience in jointly leading a local United Methodist congregation, while completing their academic studies and receiving extensive training and mentorship throughout their pastoral assignment.

Kelly Spencer studied business administration and music at Furman University. She has been pursuing God’s call in her life through musical, youth, and administrative church work from a young age. Kelly is passionate about building an inclusive, active, emboldened community that emphasizes the gift of grace from God in our lives. She experiences God most distinctively through making music, listening to the stories of others, enjoying the outdoors, reading challenging and inspiring books, and trying new things. Kelly is currently working on her Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary and hopefully pursuing ordination in the United Methodist Church starting next spring.
