TUMC NEWS & INFORMATION
TUMC FINANCE CHAIR NEEDED:  Are you good with setting goals?  Do you have ideas to share about how to raise funds for TUMC?  If you are interested, or know of a good candidate, please contact Pastor Kelly or Pastor Matt.   

SUSTAINABILITY IDEAS: Are you interested or knowledgeable about environmental and green efforts? The church is looking to improve its sustainable practices and we need you! Any ideas and dreams are welcome. See Pastor Matt or Pastor Kelly if you are interested. 

CHURCH MEMBER INFORMATION SHEETS - please take a few minutes to complete the database profile for your family.  TUMC is compiling up-to-date information about its members.  The more information is gathered, the better TUMC can serve its members.  Please click here to view the profile form, bring your completed form to church on Sunday, email to Pastor Matt or Pastor Kelly.   

TIME WITH THE PASTORS: Pastor Kelly and Pastor Matt would like to welcome anyone who is looking for extra time with the pastors. If you have questions, are wrestling with something or just want to grab a meal, please feel free to reach out to either or both of them. Remember they are always here for you! 

COMMUNITY SERIES: Every Sunday, through March 3, Pastors Matt and Kelly will continue their sermon series on community, giving us some tools to talk about who we are and why we need each other. This is a great time to invite friends and neighbors to be part of our conversations! 

TUMC UPCOMING EVENTS
 TOWN HALL MEETING: February 10 after service at 11am at the church, Pastor Matt and Pastor Kelly will host a town hall meeting. We encourage everyone to come out and be a part of our conversation as we talk about the future of our church.

 CENTENARY LUNCHEON: It’s casserole time again! Centenary Luncheon will be Wednesday, February 13th. Please note the dish you are providing and if you are able to attend on the sign-up sheet in the narthex. Food Items can be left in the Ed Bldg or Sunday School refrigerators for pick up Wednesday morning, 9:30am.

 WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: Pennington Presbyterian Church is inviting all neighboring churches to share in the celebration of World Day of Prayer onMarch 1, 2019 at 12:30pm. The event will begin with a complimentary lunch of bread, soup and beverages. Service will follow at 1pm in the sanctuary with time for discussion afterward. For more information, please see the flyer on the bulletin board in the Narthex.

BLUE OX THRIFT SHOP: The thrift shop will remain closed over the winter months. The shop’s grand reopening is slated for Saturday, March 16. Members of the church family may continue to donate new or gently used goods during this winter; donations from the general public will be welcome starting again in mid-March. MEMBERSHIP CLASS: If you are not yet a member of our church and are interested in getting more information and starting the process to officially join our community, mark your calendars! Pastor Kelly will be hosting a new member class March 17 and March 24 after service. See her for more details on how you can get involved!

 SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Join us Sundays at 9am as we continue to read and discuss of The Anatomy of Peace. This book is being used across the GNJAC and is available at Amazon Smile or your local library.
 
YOUTH GROUP:  Just bring your youth on Sundays at 5pm and tell them to invite their friends.

 WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY: Will continue with Pastor Matt on Wednesdays at 7pm. We will be studying the life and writings of the Apostle Paul.

AMAZON SMILE: Holiday shopping is right around the corner.  Make sure you have amazon smile set up before you shop.  When you use smile.amazon.com, and select TUMC as your beneficiary, a portion of all sales will be donated back to the church!

 BUY SCRIPT: Shop at ShopRite? You can buy gift cards at the church and a portion of the profits come back to the church. It is easy, doesn’t cost you additional money, and helps raise money for TUMC!  Buy them for yourself or give them as a gift.  There are cards in denominations of $10, $20, $50, and $100.  Make checks payable to TUMC, and write ShopRite on the memo line. The cards can be used immediately in any ShopRite in the USA! TUMC gets 5%.
